Dr. Kristen Fujii co-started Su Clinica Del Valle with Dr. Dianna Mendoza – a Navy corpsman with over 20 years of experience. They both wanted to help a community that was not receiving the medical expertise it deserved – the low-income and no-insurance families. She has been the Chief Medical Officer at Su Clinica Del Valle since 2010.
Dr. Fujii grew up in Honolulu, HI, before attending the University of Puget Sound in Washington, where she graduated in 2002 with a Bachelor of Science in Biology. After graduation, she found that working with kidney dialysis patients was a practical way to get the hands-on experience in healthcare that she was looking for. She then went to medical school at the Southwest College of Naturopathic Medicine (now known as Sonoran University) from 2005-2009.
When Dr. Fujii is not working, you can find her spending time with her family and her dogs (Hachi, Kolohe and Star) and her cat (Kitty). She also enjoys reading, hiking and eating. Dr. Fujii is an adventurous eater, and has tried many unusual foods such as jellyfish and durian.
“Seeing transformations in health after teaching patients about their lifestyle and diet and watching them succeed is extremely fufilling.”
